On Fees and Eligibility
Q:   Can I get admission in Sunandan Divatia School of Science for B.Sc with 60% in Class 12th?
A:

Yes, you can get admission to the B.Sc programme at Sunandan Divatia School of Science with 60% in Class 12th. The eligibility criteria for B.Sc admission at Sunandan Divatia School of Science under NMIMS University, Mumbai, is a minimum of 50% aggregate in Class 12 for all three specializations, which are Applied Statistics & Analytics, Applied Psychology, and Data Science. Therefore, you are eligible for admission with 60% in Class 12th. The admission to the B.Sc programme is merit-based, and the application process is conducted online.

Q:   What is the highest package for B.Sc students at SDSOS, Mumbai?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, a very interesting query but I am afraid there are no clear cut answers or no clear cut conclusions. Firstly placements data of BSc courses of any college is very shaky and secondly analysis or conclusions based on very few placements will not actually reveal anything. SDSOS gives out data of placements and packages only for PG students. Some sources though give out figures of 5LPA or 7LPA as the highest package. But authentication is not feasible. Suffice to say that it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. But all said and done, credentials of the NMIMS, the deemed to be university to which SDSOS is affiliated, are indeed impeccable and one needs not have any doubts whatsoever about the quality of staff and facilities provided to the students.

My advice is to get admission without bothering about placements or packages at placements.

Best wishes to you.

Q:   Is pursuing B.Sc at SDSOS, Mumbai expensive?
A:

Hello Nishar Ahmed, Nursee Monjee Institute of Business Studies is deemed to be university. It has obtained Grade 1 certification from UGC. This means academics and other systems of this university are excellent. SDSOS is affiliated/ part of this university. This means excellent in academics and all allied issues. On top of it, it's located in one of the costliest suburbs of Mumbai i.e. Vileparle. Considering all these parameters, fees of about 2L  per annum in Mumbai campus is not much. It's very reasonable. However living expenses will be quite a bit if compared with even a district place in Maharashtra. In that respect yes, pursuing BSc would be expensive but it still is reasonable and not excessive.

Best wishes to you.

A good experience overall.
Placements: The university provides placements for the students. An information database is maintained throughout the course (CGPA, internships, etc) to help facilitate the placement process later. The psychology committee at NMIMS has a placement team where students and teachers work together for internships as well as placements. For clinical students, internships are provided at four different places (current batch), including mental hospitals and rehab centers. For 10 students, internships are provided at different organizations, one of them being Parle.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. You get a Wi-Fi, an air-conditioned, and a smart board in every room. The psychology lab has recently been set up. The lab consists of various testing materials and equipment. They also provide a library with a good amount of lighting and space. There are multiple canteens available in the building on different floors. They offer a variety of things to eat and drink.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. The teaching quality is satisfactory. The course curriculum is relevant, especially in the second year when the curriculum gets super specific (the second year is when you have to opt for one of the two specialisations offered by clinical psychology or industrial organizational psychology). The fourth semester is where we get to have the most practical exposure through the college.
Other: Events are an important part of the program, giving students chances to explore their talents in singing, dancing, acting, and networking with influential figures across different fields. Major events like the Psych Film Fest (PFF) and Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW) stand out PFF blends psychology with filmmaking while MIAW aims to break mental health stigmas through different activities. Located in Vile Parle, Mumbai, the university is perfectly situated amidst lively areas of Juhu, Andheri, Lokhandwala, and many more, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the experience.

B.Sc. Applied Psychology - The start to your journey in Psychology.
Placements: During the summer internship period, college provided a plethora of internship opportunities to different organizational firms as well as renowned hospitals such as Thane Mental Hospital, Bai Jerbai Hospital Wadia Hospital for Children, and other private mental health clinics as well. The fields of psychology that students are interested includes counseling psychology, clinical psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, neuropsychology, and psychiatry. As this is a compulsory requirement of the course, all students get internships either via the university or by personally acquiring the internships. This process is extremely helpful in providing practical knowledge in the field.
Infrastructure: The university has access to smart screens, Wi-Fi, and fully air-conditioned classrooms. Additionally, there is access to a library that has a plethora of books on psychology and is also quite peaceful. Moreover, we have a psychology laboratory where many psychometric tools and tests can be conducted.
Faculty: Teachers at B.Sc. Applied Psychology, NMIMS are highly knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful. They use a wide variety of pedagogies to ensure maximum student understanding. Additionally, the assignments given are thought provoking, stimulating, and not monotonous at all. The curriculum is in-depth, being a science course, it develops deep into each field of psychology that it covers such as criminal psychology, neuropsychology, counseling psychology, etc. The examinations are challenging and require students to not only have a theoretical understanding of a myriad of concepts and theories but also have practical knowledge of how to apply the knowledge.
Other: I chose psychology due to my fascination with the human mind. I was able to learn a lot about psychology and build on my passion. The best thing about this course is the practical subjects provided each semester that imbue students with the required inside skills required to succeed in the field. Furthermore, the course also has a psychology committee that helps in the holistic development of the students. We have many annual fests that are fun for the audience for example, Mental Illness Awareness Week and Psych Film Festival.

The security arrangements are not good.
Placements: About 55% of students get placed in our department. The highest package is 8 LPA, the lowest package is 3.5 LPA, and the average package is 5.5 LPA. Several companies recruit in our college, and many students also get internships.
Infrastructure: Anyone can enter the campus without any checking. Security arrangements are very bad. The campus is not hygienic and clean. The hostel rooms are average. Classrooms and labs are ordinary and not so special. The quality of food available in the canteen and mess is acceptable.
Faculty: Teachers are skilled and knowledgeable, but they are not much helpful. They don't provide all the resources to students that would help them perform good in the examinations. Curriculum activities are only done at the start of the semester.

Absolutely the worst college and faculty.
Placements: I would not recommend this college because it has no scope for placement and no provisions for a proper placement cell. We will have to search for internships on our own, and there is no formal training provided for them. There is one internship department that generally does not provide more than two or three internships for a batch of 190 students.
Infrastructure: We had to sit in the old and shabby Mithibai building, which has bad classrooms that stink. The college Wi-Fi does not work most of the time, and other facilities are almost nonexistent except for a huge library that has some resources available from time to time. Overall, the college is very overcrowded.
Faculty: The faculty is absolutely bad and underqualified. They are usually recent Masters graduates who have no teaching experience at all. They are supposed to teach second year graduates. Their clarity of concepts and teaching style are not consistent. In addition, they never complete the portion on time.

Definitely recommended if you're serious about pursuing Psychology.
Placements: The course doesn't offer placements as there are limited opportunities with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Most students opt for further studies and support is provided for that. The course does have a compulsory summer internship after 2nd year that gives on-field practical experience to the students.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are quite good. The classes have air conditioning, smart boards, and charging points. Classrooms are big and spacious and Wi-Fi is provided as well. The library is quite average, although you can get access to Turnitin and printing services. The campus is not that big and facilities for sports don't exist on the campus although off-campus outdoor sporting events are held sometimes by the Sports Committee. The food quality in the canteen is average, there is only one cafeteria with fairly limited options.
Faculty: The faculty is excellent, they are extremely helpful, approachable, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is great for most classes and the faculty provides support beyond academic hours as well. The course curriculum is highly relevant and the course is quite academically rigorous. It prepares the student well for pursuing their Masters and gives exposure and introduction to various fields in Psychology. The semester exams are fairly tough but the faculty is very helpful so the pass percentage is pretty high. Most students "fail" due to attendance shortage.
Other: I chose this course because of the course content and structure. I wanted something rigorous and challenging academically and I don't regret my choice, it gave me a thorough idea of what I want to do in the future. The best thing for me is definitely the quality of the faculty, they have been extremely supportive. One thing I would improve is the attendance policy, it is really strict, students have to maintain 80% which can be really tough sometimes. There are lots of fests organized throughout the year by different committees and clubs on campus that can be fun to participate in. The campus crowd has all sorts of people, it might take some time to find your people but eventually you do.

Bad placements, underqualified faculty, good course structure.
Placements: Not many good opportunities were given, and the system of working was very consistent. As it is a fairly new course, the issue might be due to a lack of connections. It was handled by students rather than teachers, which was really surprising.
Infrastructure: You have to sit in the Mithibai building; the classrooms have broken ceilings, the ACs don’t work sometimes, and you have to sit in a room with no ventilation for lectures. They don’t have enough space to conduct extracurricular activities, which was disappointing.
Faculty: The curriculum is great, but the faculty is highly underqualified compared to what was promised. Exams are tough, and the portion is rigorous, which is not met by the teachers most of the time. They have to hurry through it and don’t deliver the quality that was promised.
